Mateus Morbeck (1980, Salvador, BA, Brasil)

Artista e arquiteto brasileiro. Sua produção transita no universo das artes visuais, tendo a imagem como elemento principal, indo da fotografia a arte generativa com uso de algoritmos computacionais. Sua busca processual e metodológica se estrutura a partir das relações de percepção da imagem, através do uso de tecnologias, antigas e atuais, num processo contínuo de tensionamento da complexidade de camadas e significados. Numa perspectiva sistêmica, seu trabalho percorre desde elementos pontuais a eventos de impacto global. Nada é uma coisa só.

É autor do livro “MARÉ DE AGOSTO” selecionado na categoria Artes Visuais do Prêmio das Artes Jorge Portugal. Participou de inúmeros festivais, exposições e salões de artes, contando com trabalhos selecionados/premiados. Em 2022 realizou duas exposições individuais, “É TUDO DEPOIS” em Salvador, Bahia e "MARÉ DE AGOSTO" em Catânia, Itália.

Tem trabalhos nas coleções do Museu de Fotografia de Fortaleza e na Mediterranium Collection (Itália), além de coleções privadas.

Participou diversas exposições coletivas, com destaque recente para o Salão de Artes Visuais de Vinhedo/SP 2020, Salão de Artes Visuais Vírginia Artigas 2020, Festival de Fotografia de Tiradentes – Foto em Pauta 2020 e 2022, II Mostra Latino-Americana de Arte e Educação Ambiental - MOLA 2020, Festival Internacional Confluências de Artes 2020, Salão de Artes Visuais da Galeria IBEU/RJ 2021, Bienal de Fotografia do Sertão 2021, Bienal do Sertão de Artes Visuais 2021, Rotterdam Photo Festival 2021 e 2022, Manchester Science Festival 2021, Festival Internacional de Fotografia - FestFoto Porto Alegre 2021 e 2022.

Mateus Morbeck (1980, Salvador, BA, Brazil)

Brazilian artist and architect. His production transits in the universe of the visual arts, with the image as the main element, ranging from photography to generative art using computational algorithms. His procedural and methodological search is structured from the image perception relations, through the use of old and current technologies, in a continuous process of tensioning the complexity of layers and meanings. From a systemic perspective, his work ranges from specific elements to events with a global impact. Nothing is one thing.

He is the author of the book “MARÉ DE AGOSTO” selected in the Visual Arts category of the Jorge Portugal Arts Prize. He participated in numerous festivals, exhibitions and art salons, with selected/awarded works. In 2022, he held two individual exhibitions, “É TUDO DEPOIS” in Salvador, Bahia and “MARÉ DE AGOSTO” in Catania, Italy.

He has works in the collections of the Museum of Photography in Fortaleza and in the Mediterranium Collection (Italy), in addition to private collections.
